The IWRF (International Wheelchair Rugby Federation) is the world governing body accountable for the sport of Wheelchair Rugby. It was initially established in 1993, as a sports section of the International Stoke Mandeville Wheelchair Sports Federation, which is nowadays known as the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports.
However, in January 2010, the IWRF became an independent sport federation and is now a member of the International Paralympic Committee.
The objective of the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation is to help advance, support, and control the sport of Wheelchair Rugby on a worldwide basis.
