Mohun Bagan handed over I-League Trophy, 7 months after winning

Mohun Bagan, one of the most popular football clubs, has finally received the I-league trophy 2019-2020 after seven months of winning. The AIFF Leagues CEO Sunando Dhar and state Sports minister Aroop Biswas handed the trophy to Dhanachandra Singh, along with some other team players, assistant coach Ranjan Chaudhari and some support staff members at a city hotel on Sunday morning. Mohun Bagan’s Spanish coach Kibu Vicuna and other squad members watched the ceremony online.

The trophy was placed inside a glass cascade and went through a pre-decided route following a joy ride of four hours. Fans followed the trophy on their motorcycles and some were walking behind with great joy and smiles on their faces. Kolkata city was filled with green and maroon hue in the theme colour of the club. On this auspicious occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his warm wishes on Twitter.
