Dav Whatmore appointed as the new head coach of Nepal Cricket

Cricket Association of Nepal has appointed Davenell Frederick "Dav" Whatmore as the Head coach of Nepal's national cricket team, who coached Sri Lanka to win the 1996 Cricket World Cup.

Cricket Association of Nepal released a statement on Thursday, “Dav is extremely keen to take on this new challenge, as he strongly believes Nepal has great talent and a very bright future in international cricket.”

Australia's Whatmore has also previously coached Pakistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Nepal did not qualified to participate in the Twenty20 World Cup in India next year. Whatmore’s primary task is to help them reach the 2022 World Cup edition in Australia.
