Popularly known as "Jinks" amongst his teammates, Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane is a top-order batsman of the Indian national cricket team. He was born on 6 June 1988 in Ashwi KD, Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra and trained under the former Indian batsman Pravin Amre. Unknown to many, he is also a black belt in Karate.

Bestowed with M.A. Chidambaram Trophy for being the best Under-19 cricketer in 2006–07
Made his first-class debut for Mumbai in 2007 at the Mohammad Nissar Trophy and scored an impressive 143 (207)
Played a crucial role in Mumbai's 38th title win by scoring 1089 runs in his second Ranji season (2008–09)
Scored three centuries in each of the Ranji Trophy seasons of 2009–10 and 2010–11
In IPL 2012, he became the first batsman to score a century and came out as the leading run-scorer for Rajasthan Royals.
Honoured with the CEAT Indian Cricketer of the Year in 2014-15
Smashed the record of most catches in a Test by taking 8 catches in the first test against Sri Lanka at Galle in 2015
Achieved his career-best Test batsmen's ranking of No. 8 on 16 August 2016
Captained the Mumbai team at the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament and India C's squad at the Deodhar Trophy in 2018
