Born on 22nd February 1963 in Lautoka, Viti Levu, Vijay Singh is a renowned Indo-Fijian professional golfer. He started practising golf at a very early age under the tutelage of his father. He was ranked as the number 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking for 32 weeks.

Won the Bells Cup in 1993 and elected as the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year

Born on 22nd February 1951 in Vancouver, British Columbia; Elaine Tanner is a Canadianformer swimmer who has represented Canada at numerous world level competitions including the most significant sports stage Olympics. Elaine is a true inspiration for many aspiring swimmers and is also known as "Mighty Mouse".
Bagged gold medals in 110 yd butterfly, 220 yd butterfly, 440 yd individual medley and 4×110 yd freestyle relay events of the British Empire and Commonwealth Games, held in Kingston in 1966. She also won silver medals in 110 yd backstroke, 220 yd backstroke, 4×110 yd medley relay events of the Games. With this, she became the first woman ever to achieve four gold medals at the Commonwealth Games.
The same year, she was honoured with the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's best athlete.
In 1967, Elaine competed at the Pan American Games and bagged two gold medals ( 100m and 200m backstroke) and three silver medals ( 100m butterfly, 4×100m freestyle relay and 4×100m medley relay) with her supersonic performances. In the course of bagging two gold medals, she broke two world records.
The following year (1968) proved to be the cherry on the cake as Elaine clinched two silver medals ( 100m and 200m Backstroke) and one bronze medal ( 4x100m freestyle) in the Olympics, held in Mexico.
Made an officer of the Order of Canada in 1969
Elaine's name was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1971
Since 1972, Elaine Tanner Award is given to the top junior female athlete of Canada
