A four-time Olympic gold medalist, Kosuke Hagino is a Japanese competitive swimmer born on August 15, 1994, who specializes in the individual medley and 200 m freestyle.
His achievements so far:-
- Winner of gold, silver and a bronze in the 400m medley, 200m medley, and 4*200m freestyle at the 2016 Rio Olympics
- Secured bronze at the 2012 London Olympics
- Won two silver medals each in the 4200m freestyle and 200m medley at the 2013 World Championships (LC) held in Barcelona
- Secured two gold and three silver medals at the 2014 Gold Coast Pan Pacific Games
- Secured a gold and silver at the 2014 Doha World Championships (SC)
- Also won four gold medals, a silver medal and two bronze at the Asian Games of 2014 held in Incheon
- Acquired the World Swimmer of the Year and is the first and only Japanese to be honored with this award
