The unmissable event in the world of badminton, the Yonex French Open will take place from 23 to 28 October at Stade Pierre de Coubertin. At this international competition, there will be matches in five disciplines: Ladies' Singles, Men's Singles, Ladies' Doubles, Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles.
In 2007 (21 years after its creation) this tournament became one of the 12 stages on the prestigious BWF World Tour (the MetLife World Superseries), and this year the French Open is bringing together the 250 best players in the world. The goal of this championship: to put on a show for the public and to crown new champions to succeed the Malaysian Lee Chong Wei for the Men's title and Spanish Carolina Marin in the Ladies'.

The tournament becomes a popular international tournament amongst top-tier players and it has helped to enhance the popularity of badminton in France which is now the most popular schools sport in France. French talent has reached the podium over the years. From 1940-1944, French players mad a clean sweep of all the five events. Pi Hongyan won the women’s singles title three consecutive times 2003 -2005.
