Singapore Open is a World Tour Super 500 tournament held since 1987 in Singapore. The Singapore Open is one of only seven Super 500 tournaments on the Tour, with the others being hosted in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand.

The tournament has fast become a popular international tournament in the region and it has helped to enhance the popularity of badminton in Singapore with participation from the powerhouses of badminton such as Indonesia, China, Denmark, Korea, Japan and Malaysia.
