First Direct Arena (or the Leeds Arena) is a multi-purpose entertainment and recreational center in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The gigantic stadium with four shaped orientation was opened on 24th July 2013. First Direct Arena is one of the most popular arenas in England and has been nominated many times as one of the greatest landmarks in England. It has been honoured as the best new venue in the world in the year 2014. This multi-facility center is owned by Leeds City Council and is operated by the SMG (Southern Management Group). Famous architecture firm Populous designed the structure of this multi-facility arena. The arena also plays host to comedy events, family shows, boxing, UFC, Karate, and ice dancing events.
Famous English singer Sir Elton John performed at the official inauguration concert of the stadium that held on 4th September 2013. However, Bruce Springsteen played here as his first concert in this arena on 24th July 2013.
It also hosted the general election seat counting in 2015, where Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls lost his seat.
