The stadium was initially planned to be the home of Chicago Horizons of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) but the franchise folded in 1982.
During the time of its construction in 1978, the Village of Rosemont (owner) allotted bonds of $19 million to finance the construction of the arena.
Allstate Arena is a multi-purpose arena, situated in Rosemont, Illinois, United States. The facility opened in 1980 as “Rosemont Horizon” with a seating capacity of around 18,211 for basketball events and around 17,500 for Ice Hockey events. Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), the DePaul Blue Demons men's basketball team from DePaul University, and the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) uses this stadium as their home ground. Its chief architect was Anthony M. Rossi Architects, and the construction contractor was Degen & Rosato Construction Co. The stadium's construction cost has been estimated around $20 million. Apart from hosting sporting events, it has also hosted various concerts of artists such as Ellie Goulding, Enrique, Pitbull, Imagine Dragons, Demi Lovato, George Strait, Miley Cyrus, and Avenged Sevenfold, Selena Gomez.
The stadium's construction began in 1978 and was opened officially in 1980.
In 1999, Insurance company Allstate signed a 10-year contract worth more than $10 million to acquire naming rights to the arena.
In 2003, the floor at the stadium was named as "Ray and Marge Meyer Court" in honor of Basketball fame Ray Meyer, and his wife.
The arena had also hosted "Money in the Bank" 2011, one of the WWE events when a record number of spectators visited the arena.
