Located in the eastern state of India, Jharkhand States Cricket Association International Cricket Stadium has been built to organise cricket matches of international stature. The Jharkhand State Cricket Association owns and operates the complex since its establishment in 2011. The decision to construct the complex was a result of the dispute between Tata Steel Limited and Jharkhand States Cricket Association. Delhi based architecture company Kothari Associates Pvt. Ltd. took the responsibility to design the complex. At present, it is the home ground of Jharkhand Cricket Team, IPL team Chennai Super Kings and India's former cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The complex has another ground having five pitches.
The architecture of the stadium has been planned and projected in such a manner that none of the nine pitches can be covered with the shadows of stands before 4:45 PM.
There is also a practice arena with eight pitches.
The two pavilions are completely air conditioned; each of them has five levels including VIP areas, donors' enclosure, members' enclosure, the BCCI box and president's box. There are also two large dressing rooms with separate dining spaces.
