The Gateway Motorsports Park has hosted the "NASCAR Nationwide Series" in the year 2006 and 2009.
Gateway Motorsports Park is a well-known famous track, located in the Madison in Illinois. It was opened in the year 1970 with a name 'Gateway International Raceway'. Owned by the Curtis Francois, Gateway Motorsports Park hosted its first major event as 'CART series', held on 24th May 1997. This car race track is also known for its 'Camping World Truck Series' that attracts the motorsports lovers from all around the world.
Hans Peter set a record with 175.965 mph speed at the SCCA Formula Atlantic Overall session hosted by the race track on 29th March 2008.
It witnessed the supersonic performance of Cole Custer who set a record of 32.985 seconds with a speed of 136.426 mph at the qualifying race of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series of 2014.
In the year 2003 on 3rd July, Gateway Motorsports also hosted significant concerts of American heavy metal bands Metallica's "Summer Sanitarium Tour", Korn, System of a Down, Powerman 5000 and Kid Rock.
This race track is also used by the Illinois State Police to train the new troops for perfect Emergency Vehicle Operations Courses.
The qualifying session of IRL Indy Racing League was also conducted on this race track on 10th August 2003 where Helio Castroneves drove at a record speed of 175.965 mph.
It has also hosted the "USAC Camping Traxxas Silver Crown Series" in the year 2013.
