With the selection of the stadium as one of the hosts for the West Indies Tour of India; the City of Nawabs will host the international match after a span of 24 years.
Located in the City of Nawabs, the Ekana International Cricket Stadium is part of the Ekana Sportz City which was established in 2017. The stadium is amongst the largest cricket stadiums of India, equipped with facilities for both inter as well as intra-functional interactions, professional meetings, social gatherings and even training purposes. It is regarded as a tough competition for the Green Park Stadium which is located in Kanpur, because of its world-class facilities and strong infrastructure. The stadium has been entrancingly designed by Skyline Architectural Consultants Pvt. Ltd. and Ekana Sportz City Pvt. Ltd. has its ownership.
The stadium has hosted two significant matches of the 2017–18 Duleep Trophy, including the final match.
The stadium has been chosen to host a match of West Indies tour to India in November 2018; its first international match.
The arena has two screens of 1800 sq. feet each, 40 VIP boxes, media centre, floodlights and parking for 2500 vehicles.
