On 24th October 2018, the stadium witnessed Virat Kohli reaching 10,000 ODI run mark with 205 innings with which he surpassed the record of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to be the fastest player to reach this mark.
Also known as the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, this stadium is counted amongst the prominent cricket venues. It sets on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam surrounded by the scenic view of beautiful brown hills. It has two tiers and is designed in such a way that no spectator may ever find difficulty in watching the matches because of pillar or columns. The outfield grass is specially imported from the Caribbean.

The stadium hosted its first ODI match in 2005 where the national squad played against the team of Pakistan, and Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored his maiden ODI ton and concluded his batting with 148 runs.
In 2016, the stadium saw its first Test match in between India and England where the former emerged as the winner by 246 runs.
On 24th October 2018, ace batsman of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli surpassed the record of Mahendra Singh Dhoni by his sturdy score of 157 in 129 balls which became the highest individual score by a batsman on the ground.
