Nigel Mansell, two times Mexican Grand Prix winner (in 1987 and 1992), was honored by naming the "Turn 17" of the track on his name in the year 2015.
The circuit was named so after the racing drivers Ricardo Rodriguez and Pedro Rodriguez. Ricardo died in practice for a non-championship event in 1962 Mexican Grand Prix whereas Pedro passed away nine years later.
Autodromo Hermanos Rodriques is a race track in the city of Mexico, owned by the government of Mexico. The layout of the circuit is oval and is raced counterclockwise. In 2006-07 season, A1 Grand Prix series was held on Hermanos Rodriguez. Alex Yoong (from Malaysia) won the sprint race while Oliver Jarvis of UK won the feature race of the A1 Grand Prixseason 2006-07. In the next season 2007-08, Jonny Reid of New Zealand won the sprint race while Adam Carroll of Ireland won the feature race. NASCAR Xfinity Series began racing at the circuit in the season of 2005 until the end of 2008 season.
In 1962, the first Formula One Grand Prix was held at the circuit.
In 1963, Mexican Grand Prix was hosted here.
In 2014, Hermanos Rodriguez was the one and only venue for hosting the Formula One Mexican Grand Prix.
Due to the oval layout of the tracks and limited visibility for the Foro Sol baseball stadium, it is noted to be the most dangerous race track situated in Mexico.
During the event of 2006 NASCAR Mexico T4 Series, two accidents happened on the oval track.
