The grip is used to increase the thickness of racquet handle and to get a comfortable surface to hold which depends upon the choice of the player in which he/she is comfortable in playing. The grip can either be a towel grip or a PU synthetic one.

Shuttles have 16 overlapping goose feathers in a rounded cork base & weighs around 5 g. Synthetic (non-feathered) shuttles are also used. A shuttle should have a base of about 1 inch in diameter. The length of the feathers should be around 2.5 to 2.7 inches & tips of the feathers should form a circle with a diameter of around 2.2 to 2.6 inches.
